Bees and Wasps

This page is still in preparation and will concentrate on Bumble Bees, Wasps and Galls

Here are some pictures of some of the commoner residents at Dell Piece West and our wild garden where I have a lot to learn about bee photography !

L to R Bumble bees in WG (Bombus lapidarius and lucorum), a rarer bee found at DPW (lasioglossum sp), a common wasp and problem one, bee wasp or fly ? (Syrphus sp. hover fly) and an unidentified thought to be Bombus hortorum. There are also carpenter bees and leaf cutter bees watched cutting circles in the rose bush leaves but I need to take better images of this rather mobile group of insects (busy bees !)
